3 BEDROOM COSTA RICA BEACH VILLA
FOR RENT
Villa Toucan, nestled in a secluded cove near Playa Ocotal, is on the Northern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica.  As part of the  Bahia Pez Vela
Resort  you'll have access to an ebony beach, two pools, free wireless internet, a restaurant, a toddler pool,  a concierge/office and an
abundance of peace and quiet which may be gently interrupted by the local howler monkeys.

Villa Toucan is one of the 25 beach side villas (as opposed to the 15 mountain side - oceanview villas).  Only one row of villas separates
you from the beach.  The pool, restaurant and beach are barely a minute walk away.   You can wake up in the master bedroom, go outside
onto your private balcony and see and hear both the ocean waves and the howler monkeys in the nearby trees.  (Of course, the villa is air
conditioned and daily maid service is available.)  We've also planted many different flowers around Villa Toucan, particularly the kind that
attract hummingbirds.  There's also a papaya and mango tree, pineapples and passion flower vines. You can enjoy many different nearby
activities (they're all listed below)...or simply relax on the secluded beach, listen to the gentle waves while getting a massage, fall asleep
in a hammock or view the fish and unique creatures in the nearby tidal pools.

The villa sleeps up to 10 and has three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms in addition to a full kitchen, living room and dining area.  One BR has a
king bed, one BR has a Queen and a fold out futon type thing that makes a large twin (for an adult or two small kids) and the third bedroom
has three twin beds (two are pushed together and there is a break filler to make it feel like a queen). The living room couch folds into a
queen and we have an extra twin matress and an air mattress that can be inflated to sleep two more souls.  The Villa has comes equipped
with a dvd player, barbque, washing machine and dryer, microwave, dishwasher and full set of cookware and dinnerware.

Recent Review of Villa Toucan (May 2011):

We rented the Villa for 6 winter weeks and loved every minute we were there. Every day is a beautiful day. The setting
is lovely overlooking the ocean. We swam every day.  The black sand beach seldom had anyone else but us on it.
Twice a week the massage ladies set up their tables on the sand. The swimming pool is very good for lap swimming as
children, if there are any there, have their own pool.  There is a very good outdoor restaurant along side the pool where
lunch and dinner are served at reasonable prices.  The fish is always excellent.  Ocotal is well located for excursions
to volcanos, the cloud forest, river trips and turtle watching. The staff in the office is very helpful in arranging these
trips. It is a short drive into the town where there are several restaurants and an excellent grocery store. Villa Toucan
is like having your own second home.  It is spacious, quiet and very private.  We enjoyed sitting on the master bedroom
balcony and watching the monkeys in the trees and the nesting tiger herons as well as many other birds. We plan to
return there next winter. Edward and Joan from Chicago
